Not bad at all

While some of this novel was difficult to get through considering it was written for young teens (I must admit I was unable to finish it), there were a lot of details I still really enjoyed. Firstly, I enjoyed the title of the book/ high school; Before this class, I never would have known what it meant, but now that I know that Avalon represents the place in which Arthur returns, I can now appreciate it. I also liked Ellie's own opinion of her being named after the Elaine; the fact that she finds her to have been a weak female character really felt relatable to me since I felt the same way. Cabot did a great job of showing the realistic modernization of aspects of the stories we have read.

  1. I would love to hear what you think of the ending - it's an interesting twist on what it means to be a powerful female character I think.

  2. It's very interesting to me that you could not get through the book! I found it to be really cute and maybe it is because I'm easily entertained, but I found myself to be very invested in these teenagers pretty quickly. I could also appreciate Ellie's attitudes towards her being named after Elaine, it made me happy to see a female character that knows what she's talking about.

  3. I can understand how you may not have been able to get through the book. I found certain elements really engrossing, which is what kept me invested. However, I will admit that it was slightly hard to finish the whole thing.

  4. I didn't finish it because I am currently terrible at managing my time, not because I didn't enjoy it!

  5. I agree with you, I think that the connection with Avalon and what it represents both in the book and in connection with King Arthur was a cool parallel.
