Did this story feel like every other story about high school for you guys? To me, it is always amazing with the stereotypical drama and plots that every fictional novel about high school suggests. However, I did like the twist it out on the plot by relating it all back to King Arthur, and the light theme that it put on the plot made me tie up some loose ends that I had regarding some parts of King Arthur and The Lady of Shalott.
yeah, there's something about the "high school formula" isn't there? I admit, I am a sucker for books and movies set in high school. I went to a relatively drama-free high school though, so maybe I can enjoy it a little more! ;-)
ReplyDeleteI agree it is cliche because I have read and seen many high school dramas play out this way but the medieval aspect of the story made it better. I liked that it was still different in some way.
ReplyDeleteI do agree with this comment I felt the same way that it had the original high school drama formula and then they just changed it to fit there plot. However i did not think that the story it self was a bad as some of the other high school drama stories.
ReplyDeleteI do agree with you, I feel like every high school novel has the drama and some sort of twist at the end. I also feel like the 'destiny' troupe and 'good vs. evil' is a little overused in high school novels.
ReplyDeleteI think it had a similar feeling as other high school novels, but for us, i think it was much better because we saw and noted things that we had read before, certain characters and whatnot. It's so weird that noting cultural references is so rewarding.
ReplyDeleteYes! This book had some of the same vibes as the movie "Sky High". I'm not sure if you've seen the American classic, but it's about superheroes having to live with their strange powers while trying to save the world from the necessary "evil" people. I definitely don't recommend a watch!
