Arthur's Round Table
Well, upon sitting and thinking of what to do for this Arthur Goes to Hollywood project, Matt, Nick and I have come up with a podcast. With Nick as Arthur, Matt as Lancelot and I as Merlin we will keep the nation entertained with our personal lives. Want to know about our love lives in the 21st century? How about our opinions on politics, war, the past, and the future? Well you're in for a treat as this podcast has a little bit of everything. If you guys think of a better title let us know.

I really like your idea! It is very creative and I think the title works with the Podcast. It would be interesting to hear what these character and how they feel about the 21st century and what their lives are like.

ReplyDeleteI'm curious about some of the details at this point. Is this a storytelling podcast - is there a specific arc you want to follow before you start up another story? Or is it just 3 dudes sitting around and chatting? If it's the latter, how are you going to keep the connections to the original legends going? Either way, how will each of your three characters be updated for the 21st century but still reflect the values and virtues of the originals? Are you pitching this to one of the big podcast production companies or make this more of an indie thing?
It's a good nugget of an idea - you definitely have a lot of details to think through still. ;-)
I think that your opinions of the modern day topics would have to be heavily informed by the events that each of these characters have been through and their own opinions they have formed from these events. But i like the idea of people just getting into these specific characters and talking about modern topics. Also, for a title idea, maybe "Around Arthur's Table", rendition of Arthurs round table haah
ReplyDeleteI think this idea is really inspired. I also think it would be hilarious if you took classic Arthur-like characters talking about modern day politics and news. The naming would be really important here, but I'm not creative enough to come up with one. One question I have is what kind of values would be expressed? Would they be the same as in olden times?
ReplyDeleteHey guys! I really like this idea of using a podcast to exhibit Arthur and his buddies in the 21st century. It really ties the popularity of podcasts today and an Arthurian tale into today's world. I'm interested in how this will come out! Here's some title ideas: "Arthur and the Bros" "The Confessions of Arthurian Tales" "Arthur's Dudecast ft. Lancelot & Merlin"
ReplyDeleteI think this is a super interesting take on this project!! I think it would be funny if the guys talked about their "love lives" and this could definitely be a seg-way into the ideas of courtly love that we talked about in class... even investigating the love triangle between Arthur, Lancelot, and Guinevere would be super entertaining!!
ReplyDeleteI think this is a very good idea. You could merge the popularity of podcasts today and tie it into the world of Arthur. You could even add a "tournament" section where you could talk about sports.
ReplyDeleteI am also interested to see what form this podcast takes. This could be anywhere from as serious as an NPR podcast to as gossipy as Call Her Daddy. Good luck fellas.
